Anyone in NYC area willing to help me get a 951 started?
Recently I changed out the cracked coolant tank for a new one from AliExpress. I think my coolant system wasn’t holding pressure correctly because of the crack. The car never overheated but it was also an eye sore.

I have had my front bumper off but can't think what you mean by the "bumper mounting strips." Maybe my car is missing them too, or maybe I just don't remember those strips. What are they?MoeMonney wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 9:36 pm Over the weekend a friend with a silver rose and I took off our front bumpers and properly adjusted them.
It was quite annoying but I’m very satisfied with the result and learned more about the 951 and how it’s built.
It was bothering me the front bumper gaps were so bad. I ordered the bumper mounting strips since they were missing then followed the pelican parts removal video.
Major tip is, if your bumper doesn’t line up with the nose panel and fenders well, you can adjust the bumper shocks after removing the bumper and raise them so when the bumper is put back on it is in a higher position. Made a huge difference with my car and now everything lines up well.
Also make sure you buy the hardware kit either from eBay or belmetric or hardware store with proper bolts and screws and have the bumper retaining strips.
Leave things loose until properly positioned then tighten things up.
A moving truck hit one of my very pitted fog lights. Luckily they bought me a new set so I’ll be installing soon on the project car.

Looking nice! It looks like those fuel lines are factory originals. If so, I'd put those on the short list for replacement. A fellow Carpokean did a detailed write-up on installing the Rennbay fuel lines, which I'll get posted soon....MoeMonney wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2026 11:57 pm Recently I changed out the cracked coolant tank for a new one from AliExpress. These are what I mean. They go in the sides between the fenders and the bumpers. alignment brackets.chrischrischris wrote: Wed May 13, 2026 4:50 amI have had my front bumper off but can't think what you mean by the "bumper mounting strips."
