Update on this post; in the end, I did not buy the car, as therewere too many questions I did not like the answers to, and got the wrong info on, and it still needed new brakes before I would take delivery. It is still in stock at another dealer in the group...and it`s not even one of the 3 Porsche dealers. Destiny.

things not engine related that can and do go wrong due to wear and tear:
the motor/cabling that operate the windows.
shift linkage from shifter to tran.ny.
coolant tanks can crack
drains under car clog
window washer motor failure
at some point the foam sealant on the vent flapper start shredding
top tend to fray at point where top and moving parts meet
headlights start to 'yellow' (sunlight degradation
poor wheel alignment will eat tires
the radiator motor fans are multi speed and one speed occasionally dies
some times filling up with gas does not go to full.
Very important. purchase a service manual for the model in question. Not so you can do repairs but also to talk intelligently to the service rep when handed a 1000$ invoice
as always YMMV, based on year and use/abuse of vehicle

I forgot to mention the top linkage and motors and the spoiler pistons and linkage, and the pistons that hold the trunk lids up (ouch)

if it is a idler or tensioner issue for serp belt replace all of them. Starters are not bad to do just need a lot of patience. i installed rebuilt unit when i rebuilt motor for bore scoring, purchased from Euroaparts.com. The starter motor failed about 2 months in and they wouldnt refund money or swap out. Steer clear of those clowns. I did find a excellent vendor on Amazon for a fraction of the price and you get bench test sheet. Clutch job is straight forward worst part is removing the bracing and exhaust after that its cake. Vertex offers a clutch disc with more surface area.

I imagine he is referring to a Pre-Purchase Inspection.

Thank you. In Canada we call it the PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection). I had never seen that acronym before. I`m retired after 35 years in the biz!
In the end, I walked away from the deal.
