Hi, I just joined this site and wanted to introduce myself. I have been addicted to Porsche ever since I saw the Movie LeMans back in 1971!. I have a 1980 911SC that I have owned now for over 30 years. I have it set up for track times but recently am just enjoying driving it and doin Club events. Getting too old for racing (although I do miss it)
The engine has been rebuilt to a 3.2 with 964 cams and the hydraulic oil tensioner upgrade. Some minor suspension mods but outside of that pretty much stock.

Thanks for joining and welcome aboard! That's a classic, great looking 911! I had an 85 3.2 and sure wish I never sold it!

I found this August 1980 article in Car & Driver about the '80 SC. Some wonderful pics and great lines were written. It's a black one like yours too.

"Riding shotgun in a raging, spitting, hair-trigger 911SC is just about the most awful and impossible way there is to remain passive. This 911SC, this Thing, could draw screams from the pope."
"This thing should run until your hair and teeth fall out and your family looks around for someplace to plant you."
And, for those of us "enjoying" the cost of buying today's Porsches, there's this nugget: "In the two years since we tested the first 911SC, its base price has jumped $10,000. But what you get for your $30,000 these days is probably the best rear-engined Porsche ever loaded on a boat."
Welcome to Carpokes!
