Like many of you I've had trouble getting the Rear Main Seal to install correctly. The Porsche tool is insanely expensive! I found this inexpensive tool that makes it so easy to install the RMS it's scary! Thought you all might like to know about it.
Designed by a custom knife maker and Porsche enthusiast Jayson Van Camp ([email protected]). I've used his tools to install RMS seals on my 944 turbo and now on my 996 and they work fantastically. Check out the pictures, makes this an easy job to get right.

Jayson has made 2 RMS tools so far one for 944/928, and one for 996 n/a.
I personally don't know if the 996 T has a different crank size or flywheel bolt pattern than the n/a? Probably the same... anybody know?

online ordering lists the 996 version only so far, but contact him for the 944/928 version, I know he has those.
Those of you that know Greg Brown of Precision Motorwerks (928 Guru), uses these and helped in the development. He says one of the great advantages is thar it can be used with the bell housing on.

Anyway makes it a breeze to install correctly.
